Joss Whedon to helm standalone Batgirl film

Batgirl the Vampire Slayer. As reported by Variety, a shiny deal is nearing its end that will see Joss Whedon write, direct and produce a standalone Batgirl film for Warner Bros. The Caped Crusader’s female companion has most recently appeared in The LEGO Batman Movie, and also made an appearance in last year’s animated The Killing Joke. New Dan Auerbach album for June

With the Black Keys still on hiatus, frontman Dan Auerbach has revealed details of his second solo album. Waiting On A Song is due out on June 2 and is the follow-up to his acclaimed 2009 debut Keep It Hid. Auerbach describes the new record as a “love letter to Nashville”, although there is a distinct Traveling Wilbury-ish to the first single Shine On Me; check out the video below.
