Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Release date: August 10

After they fixed the terribly broken Sonic that was originally planned for the first movie, that release did big business. So, a sequel was inevitable – and thankfully it’s a good one!

Months after defeating Dr. Robotnik and banishing him to the planet of the mushrooms, Sonic is entrusted with staying home alone while Tom and maddie take a holiday. Ah, but Dr. Robotnikreturns, with a new partner in tow – Knuckles – and they’re searching for an emerald of epic power. It’s up to Sonic and newfound pal Tails to track down the emerald before it falls into Robotnik’s hands.

We’re expecting a native 4K transfer complete with the Dolby Vision treatment, along with a Dolby Atmos audio track. Around an hour of bonus stuff is promised, including a brand new animated short.

The video game phenomenon went big screen in 2005, and now it’s back, bringing all the action to 4K Ultra HD. Karl Urban and Dwayne Johnson – still in his “The Rock” days – star as part of a crack team of Space Marines who are sent to Mars to investigate a security breach. Upon arrival they learn that it’s to do with an alien DNA experiment that can turn humans into monsters – are they armed enough? This one’s set to bring HDR enhancement to the table, with a boisterous DTS:X audio track and a selection of bonus featurettes.
