Paul Verhoeven’s Total Recall has been given the full 4K restoration treatment, and we’ll be able to experience it before year’s end.

Celebrating its 30th year, the movie, based loosely on the 1966 Philip K. Dick short story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale, stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as a construction worker who is suddenly embroiled in Martian espionage, not knowing if it’s real or not due to the advent of memory implants.

Says Verhoeven of the restoration: “I just saw the 4K presentation of my movie and it’s absolutely wonderful what Studiocanal and the restoration team have done. There is so much detail you could say it is three-dimensional. Bravo! I hope many people go and see the movie.”

The 4K Total Recall will see a limited Australian cinema run from October 29, before arriving on 4K Ultra HD on November 25.
