This month, Taboo, the compelling new series written and starring Tom Hardy lands in-store at JB. Here are five things you (probably) didn’t know about Taboo.
- The idea was originally conceived by Tom Hardy who then developed the idea with his writer father, Edward ‘Chips’ Hardy.

It took nearly ten years from the original concept to when the actual production on Taboo began. Ridley Scott is an executive producer on the series.

- Hardy’s character Delaney is, in the actor’s words, an amalgam of Sherlock Holmes, Bill Sykes, Hannibal Lecter, and Heathcliff from Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights.
- Taboo featured two directors. Kristoffer Nyholm and Anders Engstrom, each helming four episodes.
- A second season of Taboo has been officially confirmed by executive producer Steven Knight.
