Those of us who love space movies probably fancy ourselves a bit as armchair astronauts. But much of what movies have told us isn’t necessarily how it would be.
Enter Chris Hadfield, who’s done it all when it comes to visiting the depths of Earth and the vastness of space. Some may remember him from his cool take on David Bowie’s Space Oddity from the International Space Station (which we’ve popped in at the bottom of this article for you – uh, that’s the video, not the entire ISS, of course).
In the first video below, from the brilliant people at Vanity Fair, Hadfield examines scenes from several famous space movies, including Gravity, Armageddon, The Martian, Interstellar, Ad Astra, 2001: A Space Odyssey and even Pixar’s wonderful WALL-E.
Not surprisingly, some nail it, some don’t. It really is a great watch, and we hope you enjoy.
