Do you love justice? Do you love love? Sailor Moon Crystal Set 1 is essentially a franchise reboot, so if you feel like you missed the boat with this legendary anime stalwart, now is the time to get in on the ground level. If you have a few extra Zeni in your pocket, you could always shell out for the Limited Edition release which features Part 1 on both DVD and Blu-ray, as well as a bunch of other goodies.

From one mega-franchise to another, the Attack on Titan Movie Collection is a must-own for otaku of the Japanese cinema and anime varieties alike. Collecting both films in one tidy package, these monster live-action films see humanity on the brink of oblivion at the hands of seemingly unstoppable, mindless giants, dubbed titans. How can the human race possibly defend itself against 50 metres of unbridled hunger and destruction? Surprisingly, with swords, snazzy uniforms, and an incredibly awkward salute.

The Olympics have come and gone and we are all thinking that we should exercise a little more. Or we could just view Yowamushi Pedal: Part 1 and convince ourselves that watching anime is good enough. After all, an anime marathon is still a marathon. When done well, anime series centred around sports can be inspiring to say the least, and Yowamushi Pedal is no different. Sure, it’s a bit corny at times and is every bit as funny as it is inspiring, but the fact remains that Sakamichi Onoda makes you want to be better. Not necessarily at cycling though. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a cyclist…

The lesser known Studio Ghibli title Only Yesterday finally gets a release on Blu-ray and, of course, it’s beautiful. Not one of Miyazaki’s releases, this film is directed by Isao Takahata and as such it contains less whimsy and fantasy than other Ghibli releases. That’s not to say that you’ll be bawling your eyes out like in Grave of the Fireflies, but you will get a more personal look at the human condition through the experiences of the very human Taeko.
