Richard Gere heads an impressive ensemble cast for the intriguing psychological thriller The Dinner, the first trailer for which dropped overnight.

Gere plays a prominent politician who arranges a meal at a restaurant with his estranged younger brother (Steve Coogan) to discuss how to handle a crime committed by their teenage sons. Laura Linney and Rebecca Hall play their respective spouses in the film, which is based on a bestseller by Dutch novelist Herman Koch

The film reunites Gere with Oren Moverman (Rampart, The Messenger), who directed him in the acclaimed homeless drama Time Out Of Mind. Release dates are still to be confirmed for this part of the world but it is due to open in the US in May.
