After an eight year absence, Chris Rock is returning to his stand-up roots, with two new comedy specials and a world tour in the offing.
Details of the latter are still to be announced, but the host of this year’s Oscars will tape a first of two specials for Netflix either during or at the end of the tour. It will be Rock’s first live special since 2008’s Kiss The Messenger.
The US comedian was last seen on DVD and Blu-ray in Top Five, a semi-autobiographical comedy which he also wrote and directed. He also directed Amy Schumer’s most recent stand-up special Live At The Apollo and had a cameo in A Very Murray Christmas, a Netflix festive spoof starring Bill Murray and directed by Sofia Coppola.
