The biggest DC Comics TV superhero shows have been renewed for new seasons, together with the long-running horror series Supernatural.

US network The CW have announced early renewals for some of its most popular comic book series, including Arrow – back for a sixth season – The Flash (Season 4), DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow (Season 3) and Supergirl (Season 3).

Supernatural will also back for its 13th season, while the other CW shows to get the green light for 2017-18 were the comedies Jane The Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

CW president Mark Pedowitz says: “Early pickups of these seven series now allow our producers to plan ahead for next season, and gives us a solid base to build on for next season, with original scripted series to roll out all year long.”
