Denis Villeneuve is becoming something of a sci-fi specialist, with the director of Arrival and Blade Runner 2049 set to helm a new take on the Frank Herbert classic Dune.

Although there has been no official announcement, Herbert’s son Brian posted on Twitter this week that Villeneuve will direct Legendary Pictures’ upcoming remake of the seminal sci-fi book.

If he is on board for Dune, it will be three science fiction films in a row for the talented French-Canadian director. His Oscar nominated drama Arrival is released this month on February 22 on DVD and Blu-ray, while his highly anticipated Blade Runner 2049 is due in cinemas in October.
