4K July 2018 - Ready Player One

Ready Player One
Release date: July 4

Steven Spielberg’s take on Ernest Cline’s ode to pop culture hit in style, with one of the best 2K upscales we’ve ever seen packing both HDR and Dolby Vision enhancement, coupled with a storming Dolby Atmos sound mix. It looks pretty darned amazing, with some of the more character-filled scenes in particular really standing out. As for the sound experience, dialogue is clear and objects whoosh around your head brilliantly, while the subwoofer really gets a workout, especially in battles (if we sound a tad vague about particular scenes it’s only as we don’t want to spoil anything for those who haven’t experienced the movie yet). Oh yes, steelbook fans should get into JB Hi-Fi quick for their exclusive design. Read our original Ready Player One review here.
