Carlito’s Way

If you love your classic crime flicks then watch Brian De Palma’s Al Pacino and Sean Penn-starring masterpiece like you’ve never seen it before. The 1993 crime thriller hit our screens via a stunning new native 4K transfer (complete with HDR enhancement) and accompanied by a brand new DTS:X audio track.
Inglourious Basterds
Release date: October 27
Those who are fans of both the 4K Ultra HD format and Quentin Tarantino got to fill in another gap in their collection this month, with the arrival of this very QT entry in the WWII war film genre, appalling spelling and all! With his usual type of cast that’s absolutely bulging with big names, he tells the alternate history story of plots to assassinate the German leadership. We got HDR enhancement and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound, with extras galore.

The latest from M. Night Shyamalan takes us on a nice beachy holiday – where people age at a ridiculously accelerated rate. What the…? With this release we look at a native 4K transfer with HDR enhancement, and listen to Dolby Atmos audio. There’s also a cool JB-exclusive steelbook edition that you can order now.
Scott Pilgrim vs the World
Release date: October 27
The wonderful cult graphic novel series hit the big screen in style when Edgar Wright got his mitts on it, telling the epic tale of the titular Scott Pilgrim who has to fight his new girlfriend’s seven evil exes to the death before he can win her heart. The 4K release comes with a double dose of Dolby, toting both the Vision type visually, and the Atmos type sonically. A plethora of extras includes a bunch of featurettes and almost half an hour of deleted scenes.
The Evil Dead
Release date: October 27
Sam Raimi’s supernatural horror masterpiece sees five university students heading off on a quick getaway, where after a few spooky goings-on they discover an old book and tape and end up resurrecting a demonic entity. What are the chances all five with get out alive…? Expect a native 4K transfer with Dolby Vision, plus DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound.
The Thing
Release date: October 27
John Carpenter’s legendary melding of sci-fi and horror wended its way to 4K Ultra HD with a newly-created, native 4K, HDR-treated transfer and wild DTS:X audio. It’s the tale of an Antarctic research team who investigate a deadly incident at a nearby base, and bring back alien remains. They soon wish they hadn’t, as this shapeshifting creature wreaks terrifying havoc amongst the team.
