A still has been released from Pixar’s upcoming trip to the Italian Riviera in Luca, giving us a first look at the new movie.
The feature debut for director Enrico Casarosa, who was behind the Oscar-nominated short La Luna, this will be a coming-of-age story about two young sea monsters who turn into human form on land. It’s kind of a spin on the classic The Little Mermaid tale.
The image comes via Empire – as the massive watermark likely told you already – and features both the titular Luna and his fishy friend Alberto.
Luca is currently slated for release in Australian cinemas June 17, and a first trailer is expected within the coming weeks.
