After dropping off the radar for quite a while, Jessica Chastain’s massive female-led spy action blast The 355 is finally coming to screens.
In the same vein as the likes of the Bond and Bourne flicks, the story revolves around a group of international agents who are tasked with basically preventing World War III. The idea evolved from much of the research that Chastain conducted for her role in Zero Dark Thirty. She had incredible CIA access, and the film’s title is apparently based on that of one of their agent’s code numbers in the days of the American Revolution.
The cast includes Chastain, of course, along with Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz, Fan Bingbing, Diane Kruger, Sebastian Stan and Edgar Ramirez. Directorial duties are being handled by X-Men: Dark Phoenix‘s Simon Kinberg.
The 355 is now slated to hit Australian cinemas on January 6, 2022. Here’s a new trailer:
