Wes Anderson’s latest live action movie The French Dispatch has a trailer, so we now have some idea as to what it’s all about.
Some idea, as his films do tend to be somewhat enigmatic, with this one sharing much the same gorgeous look as The Grand Budapest Hotel. Have we actually reached peak Anderson?
What we do know is that it’s a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th-century French city.
As usual for Anderson’s films, the cast is quite impressive: Benicio del Toro, Frances McDormand, Jeffrey Wright, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Timothée Chalamet, Léa Seydoux, Owen Wilson, Mathieu Amalric, Lyna Khoudri, Stephen Park, Liev Schreiber, Elisabeth Moss, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe, Saoirse Ronan, Christoph Waltz, Jason Schwartzman, Rupert Friend, Henry Winkler, Anjelica Huston and, of course, Bill Murray.
The French Dispatch is set to open on July 24 in the US. We await confirmation of an Australian date.
