Words have been spoken about a sequel to Joe Cornish’s top sci-fi comedy fest Attack the Block for a while, now it looks like it’s happening.

It was Cornish’s directorial debut, and also the film debut of a bloke named John Boyega, who, of course, has gone onto big things in the Star Wars universe.

Now, 10 years after that first film, the pair are teaming up again for a sequel, according to Deadline.

“It’s been a decade since Attack the Block was released and so much has changed since then,” said Boyega. “I’m excited to see this heightened story return to the streets of London. Moses has remained one of my favourite characters to play and bringing him back is a huge honour.”

The original saw a bunch of mates fighting to save their neighbourhood from an assault by extra-terrestrials, and was a a cracking watch.

Said Cornish of coming back for more: “I’m thrilled we’re officially announcing our return to the world of Attack the Block on the tenth anniversary of the film’s release. I can’t wait to work alongside John again, bringing audiences an even bigger slice of inner-city alien action.”

No details of the story have been divulged as yet, but we’ll let you know when we hear more.
