You know that “Weird Al” Yankovic biopic starring Daniel Radcliffe? It’s really a thing, and we now have a teaser to prove it. We think.

Yes, the life of musical parody genius “Weird Al” Yankovic is coming to our screens. Entitled Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, the flick has been co-written by Funny or Die’s Eric Appel and Yankovic, so we’re guessing it likely isn’t going to be particularly serious. You know, your typical musical biopic journey of tough childhood through to manic, drug hoovering success. But then again…

Says Yankovic of the new project: “When my last movie UHF came out in 1989, I made a solemn vow to my fans that I would release a major motion picture every 33 years, like clockwork. I’m very happy to say we’re on schedule. And I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for.”

Meanwhile, Radcliffe adds: “”Wearing the Hawaiian shirt is a huge responsibility that I don’t take lightly, and I’m honoured to finally share with the world the absolutely 100 per cent unassailably true story of Weird Al’s depraved and scandalous life.”

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is set to bring some red hot accordion action to our screens this coming spring. Check out the rather fun teaser:
