Bloop, bloop, bloop, SPLAT! Darn, there goes another one. Yes, arcade classic Frogger is getting its own television show. Really.

Rather than something vaguely imaginative, like turning the pixelated amphibian into a talk show host, the show will feature real people playing the game competitively – but there’s a twist… They won’t just be playing the arcade game, they’ll be doing Frogger things for real on any of 12 giant courses, presumably dodging cars, jumping on logs and hoping not to get chomped by crocodiles. Umm…

It may not come as a huge shock to learn that the idea has been cooked up by the producers of Holey Moley.

Frogger is accepting contestants in the US currently, so will likely be on screens later in the year.

Meanwhile, here’s another fun Frogger TV memory…
