When you’re making a movie about real people, you have to find actors who look – and play – the part well. This was a challenge facing the producers of Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody.
As most everybody will agree, they got guys who do look the part. But when you’re portraying musicians, you also have to be able to appear to be playing your isnturments convincingly, rather than looking like something out of an Archies cartoon. When you’re playing guitar virtuoso Brian May, it’s even more of a challenge.
Actor Gwilym Lee, who plays May in Bo Rhap, speaks of this challenge in the grand little featurette below, while May himself also chimes in.
Those who play Freddie (Rami Malek), Roger (Ben Hardy) and John (Joseph Mazzello) also appear.
Bohemian Rhapsody opens in Australian cinemas on November 1.
