Dwayne Johnson has given us a peek at him as DC’s Black Adam in the upcoming movie of the same name, plus a look behind the scenes.
The big guy’s gone artsy, with both images doing the monochrome thing.
The first of two Insta posts delivers a rather shadowy glimpse of what’s to come (or a very stylish shot of a Jawa):
It was accompanied by this message:
“If you know the comic book mythology, then you know where his pain comes from.
His wife and children killed.
His people brutally enslaved.
He is not a superhero, but rather a champion.
Champion of the poor and beaten down.
Champion of the people.
And he is the most unstoppable force in the DC UNIVERSE.”
As for the look behind the scenes, here goes:
And the accompanying text:
“BLACK ADAM update.
Wanted to show you guys this cool shot of our enormous sound stages and massive production efforts and scale.
Zoom in and take a look ?
We’re hitting our midway point stride and our A-Team production crew continue to showcase why they’re the best in our industry.
This is one inspiring production to be on.
Post covid and back to work.
The hierarchy of power in the DC UNIVERSE is about to change.”
The movie, as fans will already know, is a spinoff from Shazam!, and as well as Johnson is set to star Noah Centineo as Albert Rothstein/Atom Smasher, Aldis Hodge as Khufu/Carter Hall/Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel/Cyclone, Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson/Doctor Fate and Sarah Shahi as Professor Adrianna Tomaz.
Black Adam is currently slated to hit Australian cinemas on July 28, 2022.
