Dexter is coming back to our screens in an upcoming 10-part limited series, and we now have a new preview of what’s been dubbed Dexter: New Blood.
In some good 2021 news, while originally slated for a 2022 release, the series will now be with us in November.
Here’s the official synopsis: “Set 10 years after Dexter went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the series finds him living under an assumed name in the small town of Iron Lake, New York. Dexter may be embracing his new life, but in the wake of unexpected events in this close-knit community, his Dark Passenger beckons.”
Original showrunner for the first four (and the best) seasons, Clyde Phillips, is returning, for a storyline that picks up in real time.
Obviously Michael C. Hall reprises his role as the titular serial killer, while Arthur Mitchell, better known as ‘The Trinity Killer’ from the series’ full-on fourth season, is set to make a return, once again played by John Lithgow. Speaking of dead people, word is that Jennifer Carpenter, who played Dexter’s sister Deb, will also be returning in some capacity.
New blood for New Blood includes Jack Alcott, Clancy Brown, Julia Jones, Alano Miller and Johnny Sequoyah.
