After dabbling in the medium for the third part of a trilogy of Blade Runner 2049 prequels, the much-worshipped sci-fi series is set to receive a full series of anime excursions.
Entitled Blade Runner: Black Lotus, the animated series will consist of 13 30-minute episodes from the same studio as Ultraman and Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars, Tokyo based Sola Digital Arts. They were also responsible for the animated prequel mentioned above.
The story is set to take place in 2032, and we’re promised that it will feature familiar characters from the whole Blade Runner universe.
Currently working on a Ghost in the Shell reboot, Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama will direct the series.
While we wait for Black Lotus, here’s Blade Runner: Black Out 2022, the third Blade Runner 2049 prequel.
