Blumhouse’s The Hunt was supposed to hit around October last year, but real world events saw the decision made to push its release back.
Not ones to let such a chance slide by, the controversy has been seized upon by the producers with the new tag of “The most talked about movie of the year is one that no one’s actually seen.”
The story revolves around a bunch of elite types who pay to hunt humans for sport. However, one of the hunted turns the table on them and starts to pick them off one by one.
To quote the official blurb: “Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don’t know where they are, or how they got there. They don’t know they’ve been chosen… for a very specific purpose… The Hunt.”
Starring Betty Gilpin, Emma Roberts, Ethan Suplee and Hilary Swank, The Hunt is a collaboration between The Leftovers people Damon Lindelof, Nick Cuse and Craig Zobel, with the Blumhouse people producing.
The Hunt is now set to commence in US cinemas next month. We await confirmation of an Australian date.
