Celebrity voices abound for GPS systems, some genuine, some poorly – really poorly – impersonated.
While we’re cheap and prefer our built-in “Bruce”, who tells us to “chuck a U-ey”, others pay handsomely to have the likes of John Cleese or Homer Simpson tell them where to go.
The subject of just why Bob Newhart’s calming voice hasn’t yet been utilised for navigational purposes arose when he appeared on Conan. Newhart deflected into his impersonation of Joe Pesci getting all navigational, and it’s really cool – and funny.
