A lot of series have taken their sweet time to return, and the Emmy-nabbing Russian Doll is one of them.

Not only has it taken its time to get here, it’s also taken time as it’s main conceit in a different way this time out – yes, Nadia is about to go time travelling instead of time looping. Time! Time! Time! Time! Time!

Here’s the full synopsis: “Set four years after Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) and Alan (Charlie Barnett) escaped mortality’s time loop together, season two of Russian Doll will continue to explore existential thematics through an often humorous and sci-fi lens. Discovering a fate even worse than endless death, this season finds Nadia and Alan delving deeper into their pasts through an unexpected time portal located in one of Manhattan’s most notorious locations, the New York City subway. At first they experience this as an ever-expanding, era-spanning, intergenerational adventure, but they soon discover this extraordinary event might be more than they bargained for and, together, must search for a way out.”

As well as Lyonne and Barnett, Greta Lee, Annie Murphy, Sharlto Copley, Carolyn Michelle Smith and Ephraim Sykes all join in the fun.

Russian Doll is set to return from April 20. Here’s a peek at what’s in store:
