As the poster teased yesterday, we got a teaser trailer for the Tom Hardy-starring Venom today – and here it is (well, just below a few more blocks of words).

All this teasing, it’s like being back in school – except good things come from this sort.

It’s interesting though, as it only features Eddie Brock – there’s no sign of Hardy’s symbiote alter ego Venom in the thing. Well, save for a logo towards the end.

There’s also no sign of Spider-Man, and it remains up in the air as to whether there will be, and even whether Venom takes place in the standard Marvel Cinematic Universe. Word is that it may even be the start of a Sony Marvel Universe. Will they ever all get together in the one place?

Sony are keeping the story close to their chests. Even the official synopsis is fluffier and less edifying than usual…

“One of Marvel’s most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom.”

What we do know is that we now have this teaser, that Venom is expected to hit Aussie cinemas on October 4, and that watching Tom Hardy is awesome. Enjoy!
