When news broke last week of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, many were excited, while others were less than impressed. Now we have some clarification as to what’s going down in Sunnydale.
As previously reported, Monica Owusu-Breen – who has been involved with the likes of Alias, Lost, Fringe, Agents of SHIELD and Midnight, Texas – has signed up as writer, executive producer and showrunner. She took to Twitter with a post that very strongly hints that her take on Joss Whedon’s mighty legacy won’t actually be a reboot, but a sequel…

We’re suddenly a lot more excited for what’s next in the Buffyverse. Maybe Ms Summers will become a kind of sagely, Yoda-like figure for up-and-coming slayers? Or maybe she’s off sunning herself on a secluded beach somewhere? After all, she saved the world… a lot.
