With James Cameron just a tad busy making another four Avatar flicks, he entrusted Alita: Battle Angel to Robert Rodriguez. It wasn’t an easy decision for him though.
That’s not due to anything being at fault on Rodriguez’s side, rather just that the story he’d planned – based on the manga Gunnm – was very close to Cameron’s heart.
The pair discuss how the collaboration came about and more in the entertaining video just below.
As for those four Avatar flicks, while not officially confirmed, it’s believed that the titles will be: Avatar: The Way of Water, Avatar: The Seed Bearer, Avatar: The Tulkun Rider and Avatar: The Quest for Eywa. The first of them is currently planned for release in December 2020.
