If you’re into romcoms then a treat is coming in October, with Bros billed as “the first romantic comedy from a major studio about two gay men maybe, possibly, probably, stumbling towards love.”

Written by Nicholas Stoller – who’s written and/or directed all manner of comedies in recent years, with none greater than the utterly fab The Muppets – and Billy Eichner, who – getting the quotation marks out again – is “the first openly gay man to co-write and star in his own major studio film”, Judd Apatow is also involved in a production capacity. Stoller also directs.

The simple official summation says Bros is: “A smart, swoony and heartfelt comedy about how hard it is to find another tolerable human being to go through life with.”

Eichner also stars, alongside an entirely LGBTQ+ principal cast that includes Luke Macfarlane, Ts Madison, Monica Raymund, Guillermo Díaz, Guy Branum and Amanda Bearse.

Bros is set for an Australian cinema release from October 27, and here’s a super-fun look at it:
