Writer/director Terrence Malick’s latest film sees him return to World War II, with the biographical drama A Hidden Life.
The tale revolves around Austrian Franz Jägerstätter, a farmer and conscientious objector who refused to fight for the Nazis in World War II. Faced with a charge of treason, thoughts of his family kept him going.
At just shy of three hours long, it’s set to be an epic experience, and will hopefully sit well beside Malick’s 1998 WWII movie The Thin Red Line.
A Hidden Life, starring August Diehl, Valerie Pachner and Michael Nyqvist, opens in US cinemas this December. We’re awaiting confirmation of an Australian release date.
