JB Hi-Fi plays Santa with a range of festive film fun. Here’s a taste of what’s on offer and could be waiting for you under the tree this Christmas, themed for all tastes.

A Four Legged Christmas

For a cuddly and furry Christmas, look no further than Beethoven’s Christmas Adventure. Everyone’s favourite St. Bernard has to help save the day when Santa’s sleigh crashes and thieves take away the pressies. Also check out Merry Madagascar from the zoo escapees who like to move it, Santa Buddies, Santa Paws 2, Santa Claws and Alone for Christmas.

A Very Creature Christmas

It’s not just humans and their pets that get caught up in the festive fever. Trolls Holiday is an animation extravaganza from Dreamworks; Scrat, Sid and co. get into the Christmas spirit in Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special; and Nickelodeon original Albert: A Small Tree with a Big Dream celebrates the unsung hero of the holiday season.

Christmas with a Bang

If it’s action you want, Die Hard: 30th Anniversary Christmas Edition is a must-have. Or why not indulge yourself with a true master of chaos courtesy of Deadpool 2 on Blu-ray. This festive edition not only features new artwork and postcards, it also includes two versions of the film – the theatrical and Super Duper Cut. That’s “maximum effort” for Christmas.

A Spooky Christmas

Not everything stirring on Christmas eve is cuddly and nice. Krampus is a creepy Christmas classic starring Toni Collete as a mother whose clan is haunted by the eponymous “shadow” of Santa and his evil elves. In the same spirit but for younger audiences, Ron Howard’s How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Tim Burton’s award-winning favourite The Nightmare Before Christmas are yuletide essentials.

A Musical Christmas

Based on the popular hit, Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You offers animated family fun, featuring narration and three numbers from the songstress herself. And if it’s a classic you’re after, musical giant Irving Berlin teams with Bing Crosby for White Christmas, the 1954 musical that’s also a buddy movie and a romance. Oh, and a Christmas movie that you’ll be dreaming of.

A Romantic Christmas

Like a kiss under the mistletoe, the gamut of emotion that is Love Actually is a Christmas tradition and should be stuffed into every stocking. And let’s not forget that other feel-good favourite, It’s a Wonderful Life – a wonderful film bringing love and inspiration at this time of year, and looking even better than it did in 1946 on the 70th Anniversary Blu-ray edition.

A Dickens Christmas

There’s a tale of Ebenezer Scrooge to suit all ages and tastes, beginning with Mickey’s Christmas Carol (30th Anniversary) featuring Donald Duck as Scrooge McDuck. Not to be outdone, Kermit and co. are at it in Muppet Christmas Carol, not to mention Jim Carrey in Disney’s A Christmas Carol. The story behind A Christmas Carol is also revealed in The Man Who Invented Christmas.

A Dysfunctional Christmas

Reminding us all of the perils and pitfalls of Christmas, Bad Moms 2 assembles Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and Susan Sarandon as multi-generational matriarchs trying to navigate the holiday season. Then there is the wonderfully bawdy Bad Santa, featuring a twisted performance from Billy Bob Thornton, and the NSFW shenanigans of Office Christmas Party.
