You know the adage “Truth is stranger than fiction”? Well, another thing-that-actually-happened has been given the movie treatment in Jerry & Marge Go Large.
Based on a fascinating Huffington Post article by Jason Fagone, and played with a comedic twist, it’s the story of Jerry, a guy struggling to make ends meet in retirment as he just doesn’t have enough money for he and his wife, Marge, to live off. He does, however, have a way with numbers, and finds a lucrative loophole in the Massachusetts lottery that helps them and their townsfolk. While they’re trying to do good with their discovery, however, a younger group also works out the system, and a turf war ensues.
As well as Bryan Cranston and Annette Bening as Jerry anmd Marge, the movie also features Larry Wilmore, Rainn Wilson, Anna Camp, Ann Harada, Jake McDorman and Michael McKean. David Frankel – The Devil Wears Prada, Marley & Me – directs.
Jerry & Marge Go Large is set to release mid-June. Here’s a look at it:
