Daphne Du Maurier’s much-loved 1938 novel Rebecca is set to return to our screens via a new take on the tale.

Famously made by Alfred Hitchcock in 1940, and the only film for which he ever received the ‘Best Picture’ Oscar, this new one has quite the high bar to try to beat.

It stars Lily James as the unsuspecting young newlywed who arrives at her husband’s huge English family estate only to find that she’s living in the shadow of her beau’s deceased former wife. Armie Hammer stars as that husband, Maxim de Winter, while Kristin Scott Thomas stars as the creepy housekeeper Mrs Danvers.

Rebecca, directed by Ben Wheatley (Free Fire), is set to air in October.
