From Eraserhead to Blue Velvet, and beyond to Twin Peaks, David Lynch has never shied away from being out there. The tradition continues with his short film Fire (PoZar).

Lynch has written, drawn and directed the 10-and-a-half minute animated affair, which was animated by Noriko Miyakawa and features music by Marek Zebrowski.

The synopsis goes a lot like this: “Fire, given by a mysterious figure, creates a hole in the world through which something terrible enters and leaves the world burned and overrun by strange insect figures.”

The short film was actually completed back in 2015, but only sees the light of day now via David Lynch’s newly-minted YouTube channel, David Lynch theater. If the film (just below) doesn’t do it for you, maybe Lynch’s daily LA weather reports (further down the page) will?
