From 2006 through to 2013, Dexter was the serial killer that it was OK to like. Uh, we think it was OK to like him, we certainly weren’t alone.
Anyway, a ten-part limited series, starring the original Dexter Morgan himself, Michael C. Hall, is set to make its way to our screens next year.
We need to tiptoe around spoilers so, umm, maybe it’s a prequel – although they’d have to de-age Hall – or maybe it’s a sequel (which would save them a bunch on their makeup bill…)
Original showrunner for the first four seasons, Clyde Phillips, is also returning, for a storyline that Showtime’s Gary Levine has described as “worthy”. Of the return to Dexter, he’s said, “We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worthy of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy to report that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can’t wait to shoot it and show it to the world.”
