Now that Disney have absorbed Fox, it’s time to announce their upcoming movie slate. There are a few surprises, and a few shuffles as well.
While the majority of titles are actually untitled, there are some interesting snippets contained amongst the rather long list of up-and-comers.
Probably the biggest is the slotting in of three Star Wars flicks, in December of 2022, 2024 and 2026. We suspect that these will be the ones headed up by Rian Johnson.
Then there are the four forthcoming Avatar flicks from Jimbo Cameron. These are scheduled to hit in the Decembers of 2021, 2023, 2025 and 2027.
On the classic Disney side, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is due in October this year, with Frozen 2 following soon after in November. Their live action Mulan is coming in March next year, while Cruella is slated for December 2020. The latest Disney ride-based adventure, Jungle Cruise, is down for July 2020.
There are also three untitled Pixar flicks due by 2022.
Fox-wise, highlights include the new Kingsman in February next year, and a Bob’s Burgers movie in July 2020.
In the very big Marvel corner, Fox’s The New Mutants has been shunted once again, this time to March 2020, while a total of eight untitled Marvel flicks – some of which we know about, like Guardians of the Galaxy 3 and Shang-Chi – are on their way by the end of 2022.
So there you go, you can now plan some of your future movie-going very well in advance!
