With new Doctor Who Jodie Whittaker grabbing the keys to the TARDIS, there were bound to be some new faces in her posse. Here’s a quick introduction to those who’ll be flitting through time and space with her in series 11 – and they’re all rather soapie…
Bradley Walsh: If his name sounds familiar, you just may have caught him hosting the UK version of TV game show The Chase. Alternatively, you may have stumbled across any of his 269 appearances on stalwart British soap Coronation Street, or seen him in Law & Order: UK. Interestingly, he’s not a complete stranger to the Whoniverse, as he appeared in a 2008 two-part episode of spinoff The Sarah Jane Adventures. As for his new Doctor Who role, well, all that we know so far is that his character’s name is Graham.
Tosin Cole: While many will know him from British soap Hollyoaks, Tosin has some space experience via his fleeting role as X-wing pilot Lieutenant Bastian in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Mandip Gill: Another graduate from the Hollyoaks school of dramatic acting, after 242 episodes of the soap she will be taking on the role of a character named Yasmin.
The news was dropped on the official Doctor Who Twitter channel early Monday morning (Australian time).

On top of this newly-announced trio, Sharon D. Clarke, best known as a regular on another soap, hospital drama Holby City, will be joining the cast of Doctor Who in a recurring role.
We guess with this quartet’s experience you could say that they’re really going to clean up Doctor Who? (Thank you very much, and don’t forget to try the chicken…)
