Revered demon shooter video game DOOM (which works better in all caps) is getting its own new movie, DOOM: Annihilation.
It’s bypassing cinemas in favour of just chilling out at home.
According to the blurb, the movie “Follows a group of UAC Marines as they respond to a distress call from a top secret scientific base on Phobos, a Martian moon, only to discover it’s been overrun by demons who threaten to create Hell on Earth.”
Of course, this isn’t the first time that DOOM has hit non-gaming screens, with 2005’s eponymous effort that starred Karl Urban, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Rosamund Pike. Surprisingly, Uwe Boll had nothing to do with that one…
Anyway, this new one stars a who’s who of “Who?” including Amy Manson, Nina Bergman, Louis Mandylor, Dominic Mafham, Luke Allen-Gale and Clayton Adams.
DOOM: Annihilation hits Blu-ray and DVD in Australia from November 13. Here’s a quick peek at it:
in other news of DOOM, the latest game in the series, DOOM: Eternal, is coming on November 22.
