Downton Abbey continues its past journey via movies nowadays, and a second – Downton Abbey: A New Era – is on its way.

A teaser trailer has arrived that gives us our first decent look into what’s in store, although they’re still being coy about releasing a synopsis. We do know that a posh place in France comes into the picture, and that there’ll be wedding bells.

It’s been directed by Simon Curtis (Goodbye Christopher Robin), and naturally many familiar faces will be returning. This includes Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Michelle Dockery, Kevin Doyle, Joanne Froggatt, Harry Hadden-Paton, Robert James-Collier, Allen Leech, Phyllis Logan, Elizabeth McGovern, Sophie McShera, Tuppence Middleton, Lesley Nicol, Maggie Smith, Imelda Staunton and Penelope Wilton.

Joining the cast will be Hugh Dancy, Laura Haddock, Nathalie Baye, Dominic West and Jonathan Zaccaï.

Downton Abbey: A New Era is slated for an Australian cinema release on March 17, 2022.
