Walt Disney Studios’ D23 Expo went on over the weekend – here’s all the juicy bits, including the reveal of the live-action Aladdin cast, and new Marvel footage.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to attend D23 this year, but there were many lucky individuals on the internet who did. Thanks to them, we’ve got a better look at Walt Disney Studios’ upcoming slate of films. Strap in – we’re going to infinity and beyond!

A Wrinkle in Time

We got a new trailer for A Wrinkle in Time, starring Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Oprah Winfrey, Storm Reid and Chris Pine.

Mary Poppins Returns

Emily Blunt is back as Mary Poppins. Disney released a (very) short new teaser (basically a motion poster), and we found out that the sequel takes place 20-odd years after the first one. Colin Firth is a banker. Aww.

Though it was previously rumoured that the live-action Aladdin reboot was having trouble finding its cast, D23 revealed Mena Massoud as the lead, with Naomi Scott as Jasmine and Will Smith playing the genie.

If you were unaware, they’re also remaking Dumbo, and it’s due out in March 2019.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Episode VIII is closer than you think, and the stars took the stage during the panel to tease what’s to come for their characters. The main take-away is that John Boyega’s Finn is more than likely to fight Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma 1 on 1. You can check out this behind-the-scenes sizzle reel, but be warned – it contains tear-worthy amounts of Carrie Fisher.

Avengers: Infinity War

The release of Infinity War will mark the 10 year anniversary of Marvel Studios, and the film’s got a massive cast to back it up. The Avengers will meet the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos – yep, you’ll see Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillen, Dave Bautista and Josh Brolin all in the same film.

There was also footage shown at the expo of the teams taking on Thanos, Loki handing over the Tesseract, and Captain America with a beard. We. Can’t. Wait! Hopefully the footage will drop to the rest of the world at SDCC this week.
