Some things in life are superfluous, yet also somehow necessary. Like waving a hand in a Force-like gesture in front of automatic doors. Hey, if it’s good enough for Obi-Wan McGregor…

Yes, the man who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in three Star Wars films (and is reliving the role in the forthcoming miniseries Obi-Wan Kenobi) admits to pulling the odd Force move at the supermarket just like us mere mortals – and he’s also been sprung bad doing it!

The revelation came in an interview with EW. When asked whether he ever sneaks the odd Force move, McGregor told them: “I do it with doors! I like to do that with automatic doors just for my own amusement. I always do a little Jedi move for the doors and I have occasionally been caught doing it. You know, like at the supermarket or something when I’m wheeling my trolley out and I do a little [makes movement]. It’s just always for my own amusement, because it makes me laugh, but occasionally I’ve been caught doing that, and that’s kind of embarrassing.”

We think that’s just super-cool. Keep being you, Mr McGregor.

Oh yeah, Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to air from late May.
