The two Bill and Ted movies were wonderfully positive and fabulously funny, but can a third one work some 30 or so years later?
If good vibes count for anything, then yes.
Rather than doing some non-triumphant de-ageing effects or suchlike, Bill & Ted Face the Music will see Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter reprise their roles, but as parents.
It looks like something wild may have happened with the historical babes, as our excellent pair each have a daughter – Bill’s Thea and Ted’s Billie. Aww!
They’re played, respectively, by Aussie Samara Weaving (Hugo’s niece) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (TV’s Atypical). We’re not sure what happened to their baby sons from the end of Bogus Journey, but anyway…
As director/producer/co-writer Ed Solomon has noted, there is a bit of a resemblance there between dads and daughters. Aww again!

Kid Cudi has also been announced as starring in an undisclosed role, and William Sadler will return as Death.
The most excellent news of all? Production is now underway. We know this because Bill S. Preston, Esq., told us:
Just got to location to shoot @BillandTed3. Making movies is a miraculous gig, but it's also stressful & fairly nuts. Good to be here with @ed_solomon, our great director & producer, many folks I've known most of my life. We're family, and that makes this all the more special.

Bill & Ted Face the Music is currently scheduled for an August 2020 release. Outstanding!
