Gerard Butler’s back at the White House, doing his protection thing in Angel Has Fallen. Well, until he’s framed for trying to kill the US President…

That would be Morgan Freeman, who’s had a quick rise through the political ranks of this trilogy from speaker to Vice President to big cheese. Honestly, who’d want to try to kill Morgan Freeman?!

Not Gerard Butler’s Mike Banning, of course. He’s a good guy. But he’s a good guy that bad guys want out of the picture, so it’s framin’ time.

The trailer (below) looks just as gloriously big and dumb as Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen (although we could do without that Buffalo Springfield song on yet another soundtrack), and if you enjoyed those two then this one’s sure to bring a bunch of smiles.

Coming to us from Snitch director Ric Roman Waugh, as well as Butler and Freeman this one stars Nick Nolte, Piper Perabo, Jada Pinkett Smith, Lance Reddick, Danny Huston, Michael Landes and Tim Blake Nelson.

Angel Has Fallen is set to descend upon Australian cinemas this August 22.
