If you’re jonesing for a new music pic after the popularity of both Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman, The High Note may just tide you over.
This one’s totally fictional rather than partially though, telling the tale of singing superstar Grace Davis (Tracee Ellis Ross). She has all the diva boxes checked, including scarcely knowing that her personal assistant Maggie (Dakota Johnson) exists. Well, unless she wants something.
Ah, but this looks like it’s going to change, for Maggie has dreams of music production, and Grace is keen to finally record some new music…
Also starring Ice Cube, Kelvin Harrison Jr, Zoe Chao, Eddie Izzard, Bill Pullman and Diplo, The High Note is directed by Nisha Ganatra, who most recently gave us Late Night.
The High Note is set to grace Australian cinemas from May 7.
