Just when you thought it was safe to step on the red carpet again without getting a plastic block jammed deep into your foot, The LEGO Ninjago Movie is heading to cinemas.
That’s well-known, of course, but as LEGO always release approximately a billionty sets to coincide with their movie releases, they’re gradually dropping news of what’s in-store for their crazy-popular ninja franchise flick.
Just revealed is one of the most impressive-looking sets that we’ve ever seen – and we have The LEGO Movie Sea Cow proudly displayed in a corner of our lounge!
This is Ninjago City – all 4,867 pieces of it, including a whopperous 17 minifigures (for non-LEGO types, they’re the little people). It’s going to sell for $299.99 in the U.S. from September 1, so we pretty much know already that it’s going to cost more than we can afford when it hits Australia.
Speaking of hitting Australia, The LEGO Ninjago Movie – with fun tagline ‘Find your inner piece’ – is due in our cinemas on September 21. It has an impressive voice cast, too, including Dave Franco, Olivia Munn, Justin Theroux, Michael Peña, Zach Woods and Kumail Nanjiani (both from Silicon Valley), Abbi Jacobson (Broad City), Fred Armisen (Portlandia) and the one and only Jackie Chan, who’s giving voice to Sensei Wu.
Here’s a bit of a sneaky ninja peek…
