Filming is underway on the sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong, which brings the two titans back Down Under for another royal rumble.
Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) saw the iconic monsters duking it out on our own home turf, with location filming taking place in Queensland. Now the production team have returned to Australia for the highly anticipated second round, and 7 News Brisbane has captured footage being shot on the Gold Coast – which appears to be standing in for a beach in Rio – and kindly shared it with the world on Twitter.
Hollywood's love affair with the Gold Coast continues. Filming has begun in spectacular style for the latest instalment of the 'Godzilla vs. Kong' franchise, the action taking place in the heart of the glitter strip. https://t.co/VZ3A1cpmr5 @Amelia_Adam7 #7NEWS pic.twitter.com/fiwjuti8XT

Plot details and an official title are still under wraps, but we do know that Godzilla vs. Kong director Adam Wingard is back at the helm, and Dan Stevens (Legion, Downton Abbey) will be joining the cast.
Along with the upcoming sequel, the MonsterVerse will continue to expand in an animated Skull Island series and untitled live-action series that are currently in development.
