Nominations for the Golden Globes 2018 have been announced, featuring very few surprises – well, other than Boss Baby getting a nod.

Seriously, if we were LEGO Batman we’d be taking a trip from Gotham to Hollywood with a hearty supply of batarangs, with Despicable Me 3‘s Gru riding shotgun and Captain Underpants hanging on somewhere…

Anyway, these are the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards, which will be hosted by Seth Meyers on January 7, 2018.

For those who like numbers, Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water received the most noms overall with seven, and the miniseries Big Little Lies received six. Steven Spielberg’s The Post and Martin McDonagh’s Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri follow on five nominations each.

Greta Gerwig’s much-lauded Ladybird received four nods, while in a slight irony The Disaster Artist – the tale of the making of beloved cult flick The Room – received two nominations. The superb Get Out also featured twice in the “Comedy or Musical” categories, when it’s about as much a comedy as The Martian was. Oh…

As for snubs? We reckon that Blade Runner 2049 is the big one, and of course there’s not a sniff of superheroism, despite the likes of Wonder Woman and Logan being eligible. What do you reckon, time for a “Best Picture – Action” category?

So anyway, here they all are – including Boss Baby. Wow.
