We had a teaser, now we get the full plastic enchilada, as a Playmobil: The Movie trailer has lobbed.
Obviously taking an attitude along the lines of, “Well, if LEGO can do it…”, the other plastic toy brand is getting cinematic.
Featuring the voices of Daniel Radcliffe, Meghan Trainor and Adam Levine we smell a musical, despite there still being no evidence of this in what we’ve seen.
That trio appear along with the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy (Barry, Morgan (but no ‘World of Organs)), Gabriel Bateman (Lights Out) and Jim Gaffigan (Super Troopers 2).
Playmobil: The Movie is set to be a mix of animation and live action, following the adventures of siblings Charlie and Marla. When Charlie is sucked into the animated universe of Playmobil, Marla must set out to bring him home. She is aided in her quest by “a smooth-talking food truck driver” named Del (Gaffigan), dashing secret agent Rex Dasher (Radcliffe), a misfit robot and an airy-fairy fairy-godmother (Trainor). As for Lambert, he’ll voice the villain of the piece, Emperor Maximus (boo!).
Playmobil: The Movie is shaping up for an August release.
