The Halo TV series, based on the original Xbox games, is taking shape, and has now cast its all-important Master Chief.
Pablo Schreiber (American Gods, Orange Is the New Black) – who stands at an impressive 6’5″ tall – has landed the role, and looks to be a suitably buff candidate. Mind you, he’s still a relative short-arse compared to the actual character of Master Chief in-game, who’s listed as being an imposing 6’10”.
For those not up with Halo lore, Master Chief is the series’ main protagonist, a 26th century super-soldier who helps protect everybody from the evils of alien alliance the Covenant. Not surprisingly, this involves a whole bunch of seriously heavy artillery.
Starring alongside Schreiber will be Aussie Yerin Ha, apparently playing a character that’s been specially created for this series, which has the might of Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television behind it.
Shooting is expected to begin later this year…
