It’s a fairly long way from Hamilton to London, but that’s where stage star, playwright, composer, and lyricist Lin-Manuel Miranda finds himself for the upcoming Mary Poppins Returns.

As an “optimistic street lamplighter” named Jack, and with a rather dreadful Cockney accent that just must be a nod to Dick Van Dyke’s even more woeful (but endearing) one in the 1964 original, Miranda gets to sing in this latest sneak peek at the lavish Disney production.

Mary Poppins Returns also stars Emily Blunt, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Meryl Streep, Angela Lansbury and Mr Dick Van Dyke, and it’s set to touch down in Australian cinemas on January 1, 2019.
